• Lentils with rice "Moujadara"


    1 cup brown whole lentil
    1 cup rice
    Tsp. salt
    1 Tsp. Cumin
    1 small onion chopped in the form of rings
    1 cup oil
    1 chicken bouillon (optional)

    Lentil Preparation

    1. After cleaning lentil put in a pan add water one finger over it
    2. Boil for 10 min.. on medium heat
    3. Meanwhile soak rice for ten min.. in boiling water and wait until water is cool then drain water
    4. Add rice over lentils when it becomes soft
    5. Add Cumin, salt and water over mix
    6. Add chicken bouillon after crushing the cube over rice and lentil and then mix it.
    7. Mix together before water (one finger over the rice and lentil) begins to boil.
    8. Leave on medium heat.

    Onion Preparation

    1. In another skillet fry chopped onion in olive oil on medium heat until they become brown.
    2. Drain oil from onion and add drained oil from fried onion over rice before all water is dried.
    3. Turn off heat and let it simmer
    4. Use brown onion rings, put aside, for garnish over cooked lentils.
