• Lebanese Tajen


    1. Meat patties

      1 lb of minced meat
      1 onion
      bunch of parsley
      salt and pepper to taste

    2. Veggies

      10 potatoes
      7 tomatoes
      10 small onions
      1 small eggplant
      2 zuchinis
      1 tsp salt tsp pepper
      2 tbls butter
      2 cups water

    3. Sauce

      cup Tahina
      1 lemon
      enough water to dilute the sauce

    1. Mince the onion and the parsley. Mix them with the meat. Add salt and pepper. Make patties and place them in the pan.

    2. Cut the potatoes (peeled), tomatoes, onions, eggplant (peeled), zuchini in pieces and place them over the meat in the pan. Add salt, pepper and butter. Pour two cups and a half of water and put the pan in a 350o preheated oven for 45 minutes to one hour, or until the vegetables start to brown on top.

    3. While it is cooking in the oven, prepare the sauce. Mix the Tahina and lemon then add water to make it liquid.

    Once the pan is out of the oven, pour the sauce on it and put it back in and let it boil. Leave it only a few minutes more. If it stays longer, it starts to thicken.
